Gebrüder T 1819 stands for Thonet Brother 1819. 1819 being the year Michael Thonet founded the company. Five generations later the Thonet brothers still own the business and still make the famous bentwood chairs, tubular steel Bauhaus classics, as well as contemporary contract and residential furniture. The factory is still in Frankenberg, Germany - where timeless design and craftsmanship go hand in hand.
Shown above is their Range 808 Lounge Chair. Designed by Formstelle, this is their contemporary reinterpretation of a classic wing chair. It features a mechanism which enables the variable adjustment of seat and backrest inclinations to allow a perfect fit for each user.
